Meet the Founders
Cogent was born from years spent inside complex organisations, watching good people try to make responsible decisions in systems that weren’t built for it. We saw teams wanting to act ethically, wanting to support communities, wanting to reduce harm, but struggling with unclear expectations, shifting regulations, and the pressure to balance purpose with performance.
We knew there had to be a better way.
Our team brings together decades of experience across procurement, commercial advisory, responsible business, and modern slavery risk management. Among us are practitioners who have built governance frameworks and multi year programs in large, multidisciplinary environments; people who have led complex projects, uplifted organisational capability, and helped teams navigate the realities of modern slavery reporting and ESG expectations. What unites us is a shared belief that responsible business should feel achievable, not overwhelming.
We created Cogent to be the partner we wished organisations had: practical, grounded, collaborative, and deeply committed to helping clients turn good intentions into meaningful action.

Claudia Campbell
Claudia is an experienced expert with over 25 years of experience in finance, commercial operations, and responsible business practices across the logistics, telecommunications, and energy sectors. Holding a CPA designation, she has developed expertise in project and portfolio management, commercial management, corporate development, investment management, and operational functions. Her proficiency in reporting and presenting to executives and board directors underscores her strategic acumen. Additionally, Claudia is SEA certified with the International Society of Sustainability Professionals, is qualified in Modern Slavery reporting and Sustainability and Social Impact, reflecting her commitment to ethical business practices.
Her personal passion for social impact is deeply rooted in her upbringing as a Cape Coloured individual under the Apartheid regime in South Africa. This lived experience provides her with a unique perspective on the enduring effects of systemic discrimination, driving her advocacy for equity and equality in society.
Claudia Campbell

Holding a Master of Management (Strategic Procurement) and membership with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS), Ryan is also an active member of the CIPS AU/NZ Subcommittee for Supplier Diversity.
Driven by a passion for social impact, that stems from his ancestral connections to the Flinders Ranges and Broken Hill areas. He has successfully developed and implemented strategies that integrate comprehensive Responsible Business practices. His creativity, adaptability, and results-driven approach enable him to consistently add strategic value for his clients. Ryan is committed to building meaningful relationships and making a positive, lasting impact both professionally and personally.
Ryan Barmby
